Uncle Tobys had developed a truly unique product in the snacks category. They were, however, unable to produce commercial quantities, as no manufacturing equipment existed for this product.

Our challenge was to develop a production process for this world first product in a short time frame.

Our Ingenuity

Working with our client, Invetech managed the entire journey of design, development, manufacture, installation and commissioning of the production facility.

As a world first, there were a number of innovations required to ensure that both an acceptable product and an acceptable cost of goods were achieved.

In particular, handling and winding a sticky product and prior to packing required technical problem solving and innovation.

The system features included:

  • Automatic strip forming and paper dispensing,
  • cut to length and winding,
  • can handling and can filling, and
  • can closing and packing.

Your Advantage

Our team delivered a manufacturing process enabling commercial quantities (75 cans/min) to be produced.

The process, from concept to commission, was completed in 12 months.
