Our client was a start-up company established to commercialise a university technology with the potential to accurately determine water born pollution levels in laboratory and production environments. We were engaged to transfer the technology from academia to the real world and develop two products targeting laboratory analysis and industrial waste monitoring markets.

Our Ingenuity
The first step was to reconfigure the university test bed to allow the use of consumable components and to reproduce the initial research results in an automated way. Using this reconfigured rig we worked closely with the inventors and our client to improve the underlying analytical protocols and provide more reliable and accurate results.
Having refined the analytical protocols we set about undertaking the design of two products based on the same core analytical technology. We designed a modular architecture for the analysis system that provides the client with flexibility for developing future OEM applications.

Our team successfully took this technology out of the laboratory and developed two breakthrough products that enables end users to perform fast, accurate analysis and easy on-the spot checks of chemical oxygen demand (COD) that can be used for troubleshooting a wastewater plant, or in tracing the source of organic contamination.
Our client also has a flexible modular product architecture that will allow rapid reconfiguration for future OEM applications.
