Invetech appoints Global Director, UX Strategy and Design

Move demonstrates Invetech’s commitment to developing best-in-class products with user experience as the focal point of the design process.

San Diego – Invetech’s commitment to designing market-leading products for the diagnostics, life sciences and consumer markets has been demonstrated through the appointment of Cece O’Connor to the role of global director, UX strategy and design. Based in our San Diego office, Ms. O’Connor will lead a team of User Experience (UX) Design Engineers in researching and designing the end-to-end user experience for complex systems and products. This approach drives innovation and clarity, enabling our customers to make confident decisions about their product’s design.

“As technology continues to evolve, people are coping with many disconnected experiences. User-centered design helps us build a cohesive experience to meet user needs and goals,” said Ms. O’Connor. “Invetech is now conducting generative research and usability tests with users in the natural context of use. We are designing concepts, building storyboards, wireframes and interactive prototypes to drive design that works for people and businesses.”

Prior to joining Invetech, Ms. O’Connor was managing director of Panorama Innovation, an innovation and design consultancy. She also led innovation, transformation and concept design roles for Callaway Golf and Gillette. Ms. O’Connor has a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego and studied design communication at the Art Center College of Design. She graduated from the Executive Program at UCLA Anderson and has lectured on Design Research and Organizational Modeling at Northwestern University and IIT Institute of Design - Chicago.

In talking about her new role, Ms. O’Connor elaborated on the importance of incorporating UX into the design process. “In developing highly complex products in rapidly changing environments, simple workflows and intuitive interactions feel like a breath of fresh air,” said O’Connor. “Good UX is more than skin deep. It is built through hard work, clever problem solving and designers who care. It is deeply embedded in the DNA of a product and perceived by the users and stakeholders on a daily basis.”
