Invetech to Present at the First Annual SLAS Conference and Exhibition

Invetech's David James, Director, Life Science and Pharmaceutical, and James Atkin, Senior Consultant, will present at the first annual Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) conference and exhibition, to be held in San Diego, California from 4-8 February 2012.

Conducting a short course in Technical Project Management, David and Jim will look at mapping the phases of a project and introduce a suite of project management tools that can be applied in the development and implementation of new technologies and processes for diagnostics, manufacturing and drug discovery.

Using case study examples, discussion will cover project phases including project planning, management and execution, and evaluation and reporting. Tools will include the Gantt chart, application of the concept of earned value, scenario and contingency planning, risk assessment, stakeholder analysis, identifying and managing the project's critical path, and various other techniques used to manage people (teams), budget and time.
